Man shot dead on receipt of phone call from unidentified person
A middle-aged man, Abdulrafiu Afegbua, has been shot dead when he went out from his bedroom to see unidentified person who called him on mobile phone, an incident which occurred at Awoyemi area in Okpella community, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo state.
Penpushing reports that Afegbua received a phone call at night while at home with his wife, who earlier pleaded with him to ignore the call, rather he rushed out to meet the unidentified caller, who instantly shot him
The gunmen suspected to be assassins, upon arrival, Afegbua shot at close range in the chest and neck, resulting in his death, while a source said the wife after waiting for her husband’s return, attempted to contact him via phone, but her calls to the husband’s phone line were unanswered.
Penpushing further reports that the Edo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident said a search party later discovered the victim’s body in a nearby bush, near his abandoned motorbike.
