MACARTHUR FOUNDATION, NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS GIVE KUDOS TO OGUN GOVERNMENT OVER SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMANTATION OF HOME GROWN SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMME

Speaking further, Esiet explained that, she said she was able to rate the state high from   the assessment report from the monitoring teams   which highlighted how effective and transparent the programme is being run in the State and well accountable for since the inception of the programme.

Her words, “we can say without fear that the school pupils are well fed, we have evidence to show for this with good community participation in the exercise” s

Penpushing further reports that, the Commissioner for Special Duties/Focal Person on Social Intervention Programme (SIPs), Barrister Adeleke Adewolu  in his remark noted that the Non- Government Organisations (NGOs) have  created a landmark  achievements in monitoring  the progress of HGSFP in the State.

Similarly, the Programme Manager of Homegrown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP), Mrs Tinuola Shopeju commended the Non-Governmental Organisations( NGOs) approach, adding that the programme which commenced two years  ago has recorded a tremendous success.

She stated that this has made other states in the Federation visit Ogun State  to learn  from the success story,  adding  that it has led to increase in pupils enrolment  and made them punctual in schools due to the free food and nutritional  values they have been enjoying.

Hear her further “I want to thank the NGOs for partnering with us, they have been monitoring us on the quality and quantity of food we have been giving to the pupils since its inception”

Penpushing also reports that, one of the representatives of community monitoring team in Ado-Odo /Ota,  Damilola Shodiya said  the involvement of the community in the monitoring process at the grassroots has brought tremendous success in the areas of punctuality of vendors, improved  pupils hygiene and also created awareness in the nooks and crannies of the State.
