Lockdown: Hotel manager,64 others arrested for holding party

Sixty five persons, including hotel manager have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly holding birthday party in an hotel in State, an act which is violation to  the lockdown order of the state government.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana,who confirmed in ,  a statement said the fun seekers were arrested on Wednesday at 84 Park Hotel, Augusto Close, Oko Oba by operatives from Area G Command and Oko Oba Division.

The spokesman said the police were hinted about the illegal gathering and the consumption of hard drugs by the party rockers,adding that,“the suspects were arrested for holding a birthday party and consuming some substances suspected to be hard/illicit drugs’.

Penpushing further reports that, Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent of Police said, “some of the suspects were found in the swimming pool catching fun, in total neglect of the social distancing regulations and the lockdown order,” .

The statement added that the suspects are within the range of 16 to 45 years stressing that they confessed to have left their various homes to the hotel in defiance of the sit at home order, while as at the time of filing this report, police said. the hotel has been sealed off for defying the directive of the government.

“The manager of the hotel was equally arrested and the hotel is sealed off by the relevant agency of the State Government. Investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court,” he said.

Penpushing also reports that, the commissioner of police in the state, Hakeem Odumosu,in a related development has  urged citizens to continue to be law-abiding,and called on parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their wards and prevent them from acts that contravene the laws of the state.
