Local Government Poll: Ogun State Government declares November 15 work free day
The Ogun State Government has declared Friday, November 15, 2024 a work-free day for all civil servants in the state to enable them participate effectively at the forthcoming Saturday local government elections.
Penpushing reports that the Head of Service Kehinde Onasanya made this known in a circular issued on Thursday adding that the move demonstrates Governor Abiodun’s commitment to promoting democratic participation and civic engagement in Ogun State.
“Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun approved the work-free day to enable Civil Servants to participate fully in the forthcoming local government elections, scheduled to take place across the State’s 20 local governments and 236 wards on Saturday, November 16”, the circular reads
Penpushing further reports that Onasanya in the circular emphasized that the decisions aligned with the Governor”s efforts to prioritize the welfare and participation of citizens in democratic processes.
“The work-free day aims to ensure active participation in the electoral process, allowing citizens to exercise their civic duties without hindrance.This decision aligns with Governor Abiodun’s efforts to prioritize the welfare and participation of citizens in democratic processes”, Onasanya wrote
