Kinsmen honour Inspector General of Police

The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has been honoured by his kinsmen in Ilobi/Erinja communities in
Yewa South Local Government  Area of Ogun State.
Penpushing reports that the ceremony held on Saturday attracted number of dignitaries within and outside Ogun State, which also include, a first class traditional ruler, Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle accompanied by other monarchs.
The other personalities at the event include a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Isaq Akinlade, Deputy Inspector General of Police, South-West, Abiodun Alabi, Muyiwa Adejobi (Force Public Relations Officer) as well as other Senior Police Officers, National Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC),  Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan and other well wishers.
Penpushing further reports that the Inspector General of Police was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun who is the President Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) and other family members.
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun it is recalled congratulated  Egbetokun on his appointment as new police boss in the country, noting that his elevation well deserved as hevpossess the competence to excel in his new positions
Penpushing also reports that a statement from the Governor’s office in Abeokuta expressed excitement that the newly appointed police boss is an Ogun State indigene who was a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), prior to his elevation to replace Usman Alkali Baba.
The Governor emphasized that the appointment of Egbetokun is an honour to Ogun State, adding that, having worked in various commands, formations and departments of the police across the country will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the job
‘I congratulate Mr. Kayode Egbetokun on his elevation to the exalted office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is an honour done to us in Ogun State. I believe in the capacity of the new police helmsman to deliver on his mandate to secure Nigeria’, Abiodun said.
‘I am confident that Egbetokun will bring his wealth of experience, garnered over the years to bear on his new assignment. Our people are noted for hard work, competence and dignity.I am confident that the new IGP will meet the expectations of Nigerians in bequeathing a competent, trustworthy, accountable, courageous and honest police force to the nation”, he added
Penpushing  reports that the Governor praised President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in Egbetokun by this appointment, which he added is in recognition of his competence and capacity to deliver.
