Lecturer marries student
A lecturer at the Abia State University, Uturu, who on February 14, 2024 openly knelt in the classroom with a ring in his hand while proposing to his student, Novella Grace, to the amazement of other students has finally married the lady.
Penpushing reports that the wedding ceremony between the lecturer Wisdom Anucha and his heartthrob took place on April 6, 2024 at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State.
The hubby lectures in the Department of Sociology in the institution while his wife is an undergraduate of optometry in the institution, and shortly after the church service the wedding train moved to Ngwa High School, Aba, for the reception.
Penpushing further reports that the hubby who uploaded the marriage ceremony on his facebook page, added in a statement that it came to pass and that it was not good for him to be alone
“And it came to pass. Indeed, it is not good for him to be alone,” the lecturer emphasised, apparently referring to the Biblical account of God’s words when he created the first woman, Eve as a companion for Adam, the first man.
Penpushing also reports that it is recalled that some Nigerians criticised the lecturer for proposing to the students in the classroom, but the management of the university and the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities at the institution, in their separate reactions, declared that the lecturer did not violate any university law or ethical principle by his action.
