Lawson School introduces entrepreneurship into curriculum, begins production of soap, household items

Lawson Group of Schools, located in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, has added another feather to its cap, with the introduction of entrepreneurship into its curriculum, and this is aimed at making the students independent .

Penpushing reports that the 40-year old school, which commenced academic operations with three children, under the Childcare Nursery and Primary School, has grown into an educational institution to be reckoned with.

The positive growth is attributed to the commitment, dedication and passion of the proprietress, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, who started her teaching career in 1969, at Children House School, Ibara in Abeokuta, her hometown, and while at England, she taught at Queen’s Gate Montessori Nursery School and Mill Hill Nursery and Junior School.

Penpushing further reports that Lawson returned to Nigeria in 1977, to establish her private school, Lawson’s Childcare Nursery and Primary School, while its on record that the school management thereafter raised the bar, with the establishment of its secondary school arm.

The college has produced number of graduates, who, today, are doing well in their various fields of specialization, and a.check at the college showed that the students have joyfully embraced the initiative, as they believe it will ensure a prosperous future for them.

Penpushing also reports that, the students, after undergoing theory, are also made to embark on the practical aspect, where they are made to produce soaps and other household items in large quantity.

Meanwhile many students and parents interviewed expressed satisfaction, hailing the school management, noting that the entrepreneurship knowledge will reduce clamour for white collar jobs, as well as make many of them independent and equally create jobs
