Lagos police command arrest four robbery suspects

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers said to have been terrorizing and dispossessing residents of Amje bus Stop, Ajegunle, Masalasi and Dalemo communities in Alakuko Area of the State.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi made this known in a statement, adding that  the police operatives attached to Alakuko Station, with the help of members of some communities effected the arrest

The statement said the suspects include; Suleiman Babajide(26), Mustapha Michael(25), Daniel Gideon(23) and Olalekan Adesina(26),adding that one locally-made pistol with 4 live cartridges was recovered from them.

Penpushing further records that, the Commissioner of Police,Hakeem Odumosu  has ordered that the suspects be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department(SCID), Panti, for thorough investigation, while he charged other police stations and operatives in the command to make Lagos not condusive for criminals and miscreants to operate or hybernate particularly during the ember months.

The Commissioner of Police  in a related development with a view to improving security in Lagos, parleyed the Inspectors and rank and file cadres of the command on improved service delivery.

Penpushing also reports that, the conference was held at thePolice Officers Wives Association(POWA Hall, Oduduwa, Ikeja, where he  engaged hundreds of the personnel in a tete-a-tete to finetune a way forward on policing the state especially during ember months.

The police boss charged them to brace up and discharge their duties without fear or favour and sentiments as the laws are explicit on the duties of the police, adding, “we must rise up to the security challenges in the state and continue to contain them appropriately in as much as the Nigeria Police reigns”.

Penpushing reports that, the parley was witnessed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations,  DCP Mohammed Ali, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Etim  Oqua, ACP Department of Operations, ACP Dotun Odubona, ACP Wale Ajao, second-in-command to Commander Rapid Response Squad, Lagos State and staff officers from the Command Headquarters Ikeja,

The policemen appreciated the Commissioner for his fatherly roles and moves to improve their general welfare and safety in order to discharge their duties as required, and promised to do the needful and fortify security across the state which will be devoid of corruption, incivility and unprofessional vices.
