The statement also added that, two principal officers were appointed, and they include Kayode Ogunleye as Registrar and Abayomi Okediji as Bursar, explaining that council said Governors Abiola Ajimobi(Oyo) and Adegboyega Oyetola(Osun), approved the appointments as recommended by the Dapo Afolabi-led Governing Council.
Penpushing also reports that, eleven candidates applied and contested for the position, but Ologunde who is a native of Ajagunlase in Ola-Oluwa local government came first during the screening, while the duo of Professors Timothy Adebayo and Idowu Adetunji, came second and third respectively.
The statement explained that the appointments would take effect from February 14, 2019, and also hinted that the position of the University librarian would be filled soon. However, the post of the Vice Chancellor is rotational in view of the joint ownership of the institution by both Oyo and Osun States,
“The council at its 135th special meeting held last week had directed that the vacancy in the position be re-advertised while the process of appointing a new University Librarian be concluded on or before Jan. 25, 2019,” statement said.
