
Kingship stool : Igbogila youths commend Governor Abiodun for providing level playing ground for nomination
The Igbogila Youth Association in Yewa North local government area of Ogun State has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun on what the association described as unprecedented achievements in all areas of governance particularly in youth development and traditional institutions, as well as providing level playing ground towards nomination of new traditional ruler
Penpushing reports that the association led by Ganiu Taiwo expressed joy that the Governor heeded to their call with the kick off of the process of nominating candidates that will fill the vacant stool of Olu of Igbogilaland.
The body pointed out that this was done through a peaceful meeting of the Esubiyi family that was held on Wednesday where six candidates were nominated for the kingmakers to elect one of them to emerge as the town traditional ruler.
‘We wish to register our unreserved appreciation to our Youth Friendly Governor Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun CON for his unprecedented achievements in all areas of governance particularly in youth development and traditional institutions’, the association emphasised.
Penpushing further reports that the group recalled that the youth of Igbogila just about few days ago precisely on April 13, 2025 had a very peaceful protest demanding for restoration of light back in Igbogila after been in darkness for about four years and also asking for quick process for the installation of a new Oba after Oba Ebenezer Olanloye joined his ancestors on Saturday March 2,2024.
‘It’s our fervent belief that with an Oba in place, the issue of cable theft, vandalization, peaceful coexistence and other security issues will be handled by the Kabiyesi as the government cannot do it alone. We are therefore eternally grateful to our Excellency’
Penpushing also reports that the association, however, disclosed identities of the nominated candidates as include Prince Fasina Nojeem Ayinla, Prince Opebiyi Nofiu, Prince Opebiyi Daniel, Prince Bidemi Mulero, Prince Fakeye Adedamola and Prince Ibrahim Kazeem.
‘The entire Youth of Igbogila appreciate the Deputy Governor Engineer Noimot Salako Oyedele, The Secretary to the State Government Mr Tokunbo Talabi, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Mr Ganiu Hazmat, Chairman,Yewa North Local Government,Dr Akinbode, Secretary to Yewa North Local Government,Hon Temitope Lukmon Akinyemi, Chairman House Committee on Chieftaincy Yewa North Local Government, Hon Falana and the Carrier Officers for their support.
Penpushing reports that the body in same vein said the Esubiyi family of Igbogila is also full of appreciation to the Governor and all those that contributed to the success of the nomination process while looking forward to a successful completion of the process in the shortest possible time.
‘We are also immensely grateful to all the security agencies, the Nigeria Police, DSS, Amotekun for their roles that culminated in the overall success of today’s program’ the association emphasised.
Penpushing further reports that the hitch free programme was held at the Teachers Hall Lafenwa along Igua road Igbogila and presided by the Olori Ebi of Esubiyi family, Prince Afolabi Opebiyi and the Secretary, Prince Yakubu Fasina, which was observed by officials of Yewa North Local Government
