Joe Okei-Odumakin gives birth to twins six months after husband’s death
The widow of the late Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin on Wednesday gave birth to twin in an hospital in United States of America(USA), six months after demise of husband
Penpushing reports that, the widow who is the President, Women Arise for Change Initiative made the disclosure in a statement titled ‘“Yinka Odumakin returns’, on Sunday to the family, adding that both her and the babies are in excellent health condition
The activist said, the twins include a boy and a girl adding that the delivery was a dream come true, 18 years after her last childbirth, stressing that the miracle birth was a fulfilled wishes of her late husband towards the end of his sojourn on earth
“The “miracle” birth fulfilled the wishes of the late Odumakin towards the end of his sojourn on earth to have another baby to be named after him. After YO, as he is fondly called, survived a three-day coma in 2020 and a few months before he succumbed to the illness that eventually but unexpectedly claimed his life, YO, he developed a strong desire for him and his wife to have another baby’.
“Thank God l did not dither or procrastinate as l took in just about the time YO took ill and never recovered. It was good news that l conceived but YO never got to hear the news of his wishes coming to pass as he did not make it out of the ventilator,” she said.
Penpushing also reports that the widow explained that her late husband, however, prophetically left words concerning what the baby or babies should be called if his wishes materialized, adding that the deceased was so accurate in his predictions that they could be twins (and their sex) that he gave the names of the babies and told her how he would raise them.
The renowned activist said while many may interpret this to mean that he had premonition about his death, but pointed out that, it was only a strong desire expressed by him to have babies that he would dot over and who would possibly step into his “aluta” shoes
Penpushing reports that, the couple got married in 1997, had their first female child in 2000 and the second, a boy, in 2003, while the husband died on April 2, at 54, after battling with respiratory problems occasioned by coronavirus complications.
