Iyeru writes Governor Abiodun to wade into impending crisis within park management services
The Chairman Park Management Services (PMS), Ogun State Chapter, Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin has passionately appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun to quickly wade into the ongoing crisis in the Park Management Services.
Penpushing reports that Bodunrin popularly called ‘Iyeru’, made the appeal in a statement alleging Alhaji Ismail Mustapha, Chairman of National Union of Road Workers (NURTW), as behind the crisis, which he said may escalate to bigger crisis if not nip in the board
The statement issued by Bodunrin pointed out that the situation has reached a critical point, with tensions rising and the potential for further escalation, emphasizing on need for immediate action to prevent any further unrest and maintain peace in the affected areas.
Penpushing further reports that Bodunrin explained that his led Park Management Services (PMS) was assigned to cover Ogun West and Central Senatorial Districts, while Mustapha, popularly called ‘Yaro Ade’, was designated to cover Ogun East Senatorial District, which it has been on over some years.
‘However, yesterday, Alhaji Yaro Ade and his followers crossed their boundaries by mobilizing their boys to take over Ogun West and Ogun Central Senatorial District, where Iyeru’s jurisdiction lies’, the statement noted.
‘This unauthorized incursion has sparked outrage and led to a small riot early this morning in Ogun West and Ogun Central Senatorial District. The situation is highly volatile and has the potential to escalate into a full-blown crisis if not addressed promptly. The safety and well-being of the residents in these areas are at stake, especially the commuters and the passengers’, Bodunde stated.
‘Recognizing the urgency of the matter, Iyeru led Chairman and its members are urging the state government to intervene immediately. It is crucial for the government to step in and restore order, ensuring that the designated boundaries are respected and adhered to by all parties involved’, he emphasised.
Penpushing also reports that in the statement, Chairman of the Park Management Services(PMS) posited that by doing so, the government can prevent further clashes and maintain peace and stability in the affected regions.
‘The state government’s intervention is not only necessary to prevent the escalation of the crisis but also to safeguard the livelihoods of the residents. The disruption caused by the unauthorized actions of Alhaji Yaro and his followers has the potential to negatively impact the daily lives of the people in Ogun West and Ogun Central Senatorial District. It is imperative that their safety and economic well-being are protected’, he stressed.
‘The Governor’s Office has been made aware of the situation and the urgent need for intervention. The concerned citizens are hopeful that the state government will act swiftly to address the crisis and restore normalcy in the affected areas. The residents of Ogun West and Ogun Central Senatorial District are relying on the government’s leadership to resolve this issue and ensure their safety’, Bodunde wrote.
‘The state government’s intervention will not only bring an end to the current crisis but also send a strong message that such unauthorized actions will not be tolerated. It is essential to uphold the rule of law and maintain the integrity of the Park Management services. By taking decisive action’, he said.
