
Iyabo Obasanjo storms Ayetoro for political consultation ahead of party governorship primaries
The governorship aspirant under platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general elections, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo on Wednesday stormed Ayetoro town in Yewa North local government to meet party supporters as part of her consultations with elders of the ruling party.
Penpushing reports that Obasanjo arrived the town in a convoy and received by the party leaders and supporters in the local government led by a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Evangelist Titus Eweje.
The governorship hopeful earlier held meeting with Eweje alongside executives of the party in the local government, before proceeding, a town hall to meet thousands of the party members anxiously waiting for her.
Penpushing further reports that the aspirant and her entourage were ushered into the hall in a colourful manner, with political songs, as many of them were adorned with her posters and souvenirs which include T-Shirts and fez cap among others.

The chieftain of the party and a notable politician in the state in his welcome speech commended the determination of Obasanjo to have come out as a female aspirant, with a pledge that the local government would work in her favour.
Penpushing also reports that Eweje declared that it is right time for a female to become Ogun State Governor, after fifty years creation of the state, and called on women in particular to rally round one of them in securing party ticket and subsequently emerge as the first female Governor in Nigeria.
The party leader explained that the visit should not be misconstrue as a campaign, rather it was a consultation ahead of the party primaries, and emphasized that he would lead the local government in ensuring that she becomes the party flagbearer.
‘We appreciate your visit; we appreciate your courage as a female aspirant. It is high time Ogun State produce first female governor in Nigeria, and you are the best choice for Ogun State. Let me assure you that you have our support in this local government, and we are ready to follow and support you’, Eweje stated.
Penpushing reports that Obasanjo on her part while addressing the party members who came from all wards of the local government assured that if offer the mandate to lead, she would operate government of fairness
The aspirant pledge that she would not turn out as an ingrate, stressing that they should consider her administration as their government, recalling that she has been in politics since 1999, having served as commissioner and senator.

Penpushing further reports that the daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo emphasized that she is not a stranger in the state, and not a greedy politician, just as she called on women not to sideline men in the course of her political journey to the governor’s office and government house in next political dispensation.
The former Commissioner for Health in Ogun State encouraged party members and other eligible voters in ensuring they get their voter cards ahead of the poll, so that they won’t be left out in governance
