INFLUX OF PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS ENCOURAGES CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA, SAYS BODE MUSTAPHA
‘The influx of professional politicians responsible for corruption, because many of them believe that the only way to amass wealth is been in government as professional politicians, and this is disgusting. They are desperate to be in office’, he noted.
The former Federal lawmaker between 1999-2003 advocated for part time legislative work, adding that, this will curb corruption, stressing that if this is done, the seat tight syndrome will be thing of the past and bring a healthy democracy.
‘Legislative work should be on part time. Those desperate to be in office do not have genuine intentions, many of them believe it is the only way to enrich themselves, and they encourage corruption. Corruption starts from indiscipline’, Mustapha emphasized
The successful business pointed out that, serious politicians with genuine interest for nation growth must have second address which is a legitimate work, adding that laziness has turned many to professional politicians
