KIDNAPPERS ABDUCT SIX SCHOOLGIRLS, TWO TEACHERS IN KADUNA SCHOOL

“Security personnel have started investigation and search for the girls and the two staff members that were kidnapped,” Mr Allah-Yaro said by telephone Thursday afternoon. He added that the Kaduna State commissioner in charge of security had arrived the scene and coordinating rescue efforts with security.

Penpushing further reports that, the Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Yakubu Sabo, said in a statement that multiple units of the police have been assigned in the wake of the attack.

‘The police anti-kidnapping unit, the special anti-robbery squad and conventional police have all been “mobilised to the area for possible rescue of the victims and arresting the perpetrators of the unfortunate incident” he said. “Intelligent Response Team (IRT) has been contacted for technical support.”

Penpushing also reports that, the police image maker urged private school authorities to ensure prompt report of “suspicious persons” around their premises “to forestall future occurrence of ugly incidents.”

The Kaduna State Government also confirmed the abduction in a statement by the Commissioner, Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan, adding that government “condemns this as a despicable action, a most unfortunate intrusion of crime into the life of young students and the staff teaching them.”

“Governor Nasir El-Rufai has despatched a government delegation to sympathise with the school community and assure them that security agencies are working to rescue the abducted persons,” he said.
