The former International field and track queen, an Olympic medalist, Falilat Ogunkoya-Omotayo has disclosed her love for music of late Abami Eda, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, explaining that his song cools her tension at all time and keeps the mind flowing
Penpushing reports that, the Ogun State born veteran athlete, who had won many laurels for Nigeria at the world level made this known during a chat, adding that she also appreciate lot of other music in the 80’s , with emphasis on Anikulapo-Kuti songs
The renowned Nigerian former track and field athlete added that other musicians whose lyrics catches her attention include King Sunny Ade and Whitney Houston, as well as reggae music, stressing that she loves music with passion.
Penpushing further reports that, Ogunkoya-Omotayo added that, she enjoyed a little bit of partying with moderation, as an athlete, explaining that during those period she was cautious and mindful of type of friends she mingled with to avoid social vices
The veteran athlete who won a bronze medal at the Olympics game in 1996 amongst others, added that other hobbies she enjoyed doing is cooking, which she said made her to relax and that, as policy she doesn’t eat outside, but prefer cooking her food
Penpushing also reports that, on her athletic career, she said her parents never discouraged her in venturing to the sports, adding that it was a right path for her, which her parents encouraged and support her doing.
The Olympic medalist said she had no regret, been a sports person, adding that she was able to manage the talent, and appreciated the coach who discovered her, and God’s favour for her, throughout her sojourn into the world of athletic
