I have no plans to defect to all progressives congress, says Governor Makinde
The Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has declared that he was not ready to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as being speculated in some quarters.
Penpushing reports that made this known to journalists on Thursday amid his visit to the Presidential Bola Tinubu at Villa, in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stressing that he remains comfortable in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
I’m comfortable in the PDP. And again, we may have issues in this country where you need a bipartisan approach. Where it won’t be an issue of maybe APC talking alone or PDP talking alone, where we will have to look at what is the best foot forward, in the interest of our nation. So when you get to that junction, you need everybody on board’, he added

Penpushing further reports that Makinde, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), remains one of the few governors still in the party amid a wave of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Governor is widely believed to be nursing a presidential ambition and is positioning himself for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) 2027 presidential ticket, while the Thursday’s visit marked his first known encounter with Tinubu since his defection.
