“We need to get united for several reasons, the first and foremost reason is that to have a country, Nigeria, we must have viable democracy, without democracy we cannot have a successful country and in the process of having democracy, as it is today, we are in the opposition party and we must be responsible and be available, we have a duty to this nation, if we don’t have a nation, how many of us are prepared to be refugees today?.
“We have been misgoverned, for the last few years, to return Nigeria to sanity, our wellbeing, it is our duty as a people to maintain the building block to the opposition nationally, we owe it a duty to provide good governance’.
“We are in an endowed State, good luck, good fortune, nothing comes through Nigeria except they comes through us, that lucky position we have failed to exploit, despite that infact that in Ogun State we have had good fortune of good governance, over ten years, we have the likes of Awolowo, Onabanjo, we have had good governance, but somehow, somewhere along the line, we have made certain misstructures, we need to succeed as a people, we need to have good governance and we need as a people, as a party to win in Ogun State for this reason of provision of good governance, we must act united” he said.

He said, “The key issue I brought to you is to acknowledge the unifying effort of the party in Ogun State, and we can confirm that the party is indeed in the unification effort of bringing together all manners of those home and away under one umbrella. This is what we need, and it is only when we are united that we can be focused”
The Party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, in his speech commended the efforts of the State Chapter of the party towards unifying the members of the party, stating, “we were divided and you know that divided we cannot stand, but united we can stand’.
‘So we are very pleased with your actions today, that all our members who had left to other political parties had now agreed to come together and form that united party that can withstand all various and that can move forward and win election anytime they would come”
“For how long can we be oppressed, for how long can we be intimated, for how long can we starved, for how long can we continue to kill ourselves? There is so much hunger on the land, so much killings on the land, we have never witnessed such before, even when Nigeria passed through the civil war, the number of people that have been killed since the inception of this APC government is so much that you can’t place records’.
“Everyday you woke up to hear the killings in Zamfara, the killings in Enugu, the killings across the country, Benue, Taraba, Ogun State, other States, there is no State in Nigeria today that there has not been record of killings, and suicide, all because of bad governance’.
“We must rise and united ourselves because we are all democrats, the entire world is watching the population of 200 million people, Nigeria people are also watching, we had elections in February and March and you all know how it went, we all see the results, though we are not allowed to talk about it, but the people are watching”
