I already have 11million votes in my kitty ahead of 2023 poll, Atiku Abubakar boasts
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has boasted that, he has already garnered 11million votes ahead of the 2023 Presidential election
Penpushing reports that, Abubakar stated this when he visited the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on Thursday, in Abuja, to solicit the party’s support on his presidential ambition.”
The former Vice President listed this,, as one of the reasons why the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) should give him the presidential ticket, which he said would be a passage for him to win.
“Under normal circumstances this is a guy who already has 11 million votes in his space. And I think as a party, you should give me the right of passage to use the votes, Atiku emphasized
Penpushing further reports that, the aspirant admonished the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to provide the right kind of leadership to present a good candidate, stressing that he remains the best candidate
The former Vice President, however, noted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) practises democracy and asked the National Working Committee (NWC) to be fair, transparent and credible in producing a flag bearer for the party.
Penpushing also reports that, Abubakar repeated his agenda for the country if elected president next year, adding that, these plans include uniting the country, tackling insecurity, reviving the economy and devolution of powers.
The aspirant, however, commended the National Working Committee (NWC) for hard work and excellent leadership, and urged the party to come out in force and show Nigerians just how much the All Progressives Congress (APC) has, and will continue to fail.
Penpushing reports that chairman of the party, Prof Iyorchia Ayu, in his remarks asked to dismiss the notion that he will work for Abubakar because they are friends, explaining that he would work for all the aspirants.
“I will not work for you. I will work for all the 17 aspirants. It is left to you to convince the delegates, market and sell yourself to the delegates. I know each of you, if given the opportunity, will do better than what APC has been doing. At the primaries we will elect a candidate and we will all rally round that candidate’, Ayu said.
Penpushing also reports that, the chairman said the National Working Committee (NWC) will remain unbiased and will not take sides, adding that that each aspirant will get the support of the party.
The party chairman further assured that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will work towards winning the election in 2023 and retaining power afterwards.
Penpushing reports that, other aspirants under the platform of the party include: Dr Bukola Saraki,(former Senate President), Hon Aminu Tambuwal(Sokoto State Governor), Bala Mohammed(Bauchi State Governor) and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
The list include, Peter Obi(Anambra State Governor), Pius Anyim, Nyesom Wike,(Rivers State Governor) Ben Ayade,(Cross River State Governor) , Ayo Fayose(former Ekiti State Governor), , Sam Ohuabunwa ( a renowned pharmacist), and , Dele Momodu(Publisher Ovation Magazine).
