Gunmen kidnap Methodist Church Prelate
The Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Kanu, has been, kidnapped by suspected gunmen along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
Penpushing reports that, the clergyman was seized alongside Dennis Mark, the Methodist Bishop of Owerri Dennis Mark and the Prelate’s Chaplain on Sunday, while on their way from a programme in the council area.
The whereabout of the victims and their abductors remained unknown as at the time of filing this report, while the Abia State Command Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the ugly development.
Penpushing further reports that, the police spokesman described the development as unfortunate, assuring that efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims, and solicited for credible information from the public to assist police in investigation
“It’s quite unfortunate. Efforts are on top gear toward his rescue as well as other priests with him.We solicit credible information from the public toward their rescue, please,” Ogbonna said.
