A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) James Ajulo has been kidnapped at his residence in Ibaka quarters in Akungba Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Penpushing reports that, a friend of the victim, Tolu Babaleye, who witnessed the incident, explained that the kidnappers laid an ambush near the house of their target who is the factional Chairman of the party at Ward 13, and whisked him away.
“They ransacked his house after which they took him away in his own car.They used the Toyota Sienna car they came with as a backup to escape from the scene.They shot sporadically in the air to scare away residents which aided their escape from the town,” he added.
Penpushing further reports that, Babaleye disclosed that the kidnappers were yet to establish any contact with the victim’s family, as at the time of filing this reports, but said the incident had been reported at the Akungba Police Division”.
The victim’s friend added that, kidnappers laid an ambush for him near his house, and made away with him in his own, while his whereabout remained unknown to the family, as at the time he narrated the ugly development
The Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph confirmed the incident, adding that investigation had begun into the development as police detectives had been mobilised towards rescuing the victim.
