Gunmen invade conference hotels in Abeokuta
Gunmen whose identities were yet to be established, on the wee hours of Sunday stormed the Conference Hotels located along Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, on alleged raid of the facility.
Penpushing reports that, the unknown gunmen believed to be acting at the behest of one of the anti graft agencies stormed the premises of the hotel facilities at about 2am in in search of an unknown yahoo boy.
The commando style operation of the gunmen alleged to be firing shots within the premises was said to have caused panic on the staff, and number of innocent lodgers in the hotel, who were reported to be shivering inside their various apartments.
Penpushing reports that, the hotels security agencies were able to restore law and other and no live was lost, while as at the time of filing this report, it was not clear if anybody was forcefully whisked away by the gunmen
The management of the hotels when contacted by Penpushing media confirmed the incident, which was described as shocking, adding that the gunmen were sporadically firing shots, adding that the innocent guests within the facility were scared.
‘Unnecessary shots were fired and our innocent guests were scared. Thankfully, our various security agencies were able to restore law and other and no live was lost. We thank all our Patrons for their patient and understanding and reassure all of their safety at all times in all our facilities’, the management said
