
Gunmen attack national park service office in Oyo state, kill four
Gunmen on Tuesday night invaded the National Park Service office in Oloka, Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, leaving four personnel feared dead, and one other in critical condition.
Penpushing reports that an eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity said the bandits stormed the park at about 9pm, adding that five officers were attacked during the incident, and four were confirmed dead while the fifth person who sustained serious injuries is currently receiving treatment.
The Oyo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, who confirmed the incident said the attack was carried out by yet-to-be-identified armed men against personnel of the National Park Service.

Penpushing further reports that Olayinka stated that the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, Femi Haruna, alongside other security service chiefs, had visited the affected area to assess the situation firsthand.
The police spokesperson disclosed that the Commissioner had ordered the immediate deployment of tactical teams, officers of the Mobile Police Force, and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit of the Nigeria Police Force to the area.
Penpushing also reports that Olayinka explained that the deployment is aimed at preventing further breakdown of law and order, restoring calm, and ensuring the safety of lives and property,” he said.
The police imagemaker, however, assured members of the public that security agencies are fully on top of the situation and urged residents to remain calm while investigations and security operations continue.
