Gunmen attack Labour Party Governorship candidate’s home in osun state

The home of Labour Party(LP) Governorship candidate in Osun State, Hon Lasun Yusuf has been attack by suspected gunmen, who stormed the residence located in Ilobu of Irepodun Local Government Area of the  state

Penpushing reports that, sources said the politician narrowly escaped being killed when the attackers arrived the home at about 2am, but were vehemently resisted by his security guards who engaged them in a fierce battle, and later took to their heels.

The Governorship candidate in reaction to the development on Monday in a radio programme, alleged the state government of being behind the attack of his private residence, just as his media aide Oyewole Oladimeji confirmed the incident.

Penpushing further reports that, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Ismail Omipidan, in response to the allegation said the Labour Party governorship candidate was no threat to his principal’s second term ambition.

The Chief Press Secretary added that  since there were security personnel attached to Lasun, the attack should have been repelled successfully, stressimg that there was no reason to come after the governorship candidate of Labour Party(LP).

“Why would anyone want to come after Lasun? Lasun is no threat to Mr governor. We are not after any citizen of Osun State, let alone Lasun Yusuff. It is not only that my principal does not know anything about the attack but I am doubtful of the claim being made by Honourable Lasun Yusuff. Lasun should stop painting a picture as if there is tension in the state. We all know there is no tension in Osun,” he said.

Penpushing also reports that,  the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi  hen contacted stated that the Divisional Police Officer of the area has visited the scene, and the command ill equally commence investigation into the issue
