Gunmen abduct All Progressives Congress chieftain in Kaduna state
The Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kaduna State Chapter, Kawu Yakassai have been abducted by gunmen at his country home in the Soba Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
Penpushing reports that Governor Uba Sani in a statement by his media aide, Mohammed Shehu confirmed the incident and directed the security agents to go after the kidnappers and rescue the party chieftain.
‘The governor restated his administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and property of all residents in the state. Part of the steps taken to achieve security in Kaduna was to employ 7,000 vigilantes to complement the efforts of conventional security agencies’,the statement said.
Penpushing further reports that it is on record that Kaduna state is one of five states in Nigeria’s North-West being terrorised by terrorist, who are known to kill and kidnap for ransom across the state and environs.
