Governor Ortom’s aide shot dead

A  retired Assistant Inspector General of Police  serving as a  Senior Special Assistant on Security to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom.has been shot dead in Jos, Plateau State Capital, a, neigbouring state to Benue State.,

Penpushing reports the death of Christopher Dega,was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Terver Akase, but as at the time of filing this report could not give details to the sad incident.

The deceased before his retirement from the police had served as commissioner of police in Borno and Edo states, while is death is coming few days after the murder of a former political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak.

The Governor in reaction to the sad news  while speaking with journalists on Wednesday at Benue Peoples House Markudi said it was huge blow to his administration., noting that  the retired Assistant Inspector General of Police was very active, even in retirement, saying it was painful that he was gunned down in such a gruesome manner.

“Retired AIG Dega served with me here, and this is someone who has retired but is not tired and was very active. So, for him to have been murdered in the manner they did, a retired AIG gunned down. This is very sad’, Ortom stated.

Penpushing also reports that, the Governor called on the security agencies to find the killers of his aide, hust as he pointed out that. insecurity has covered the North East, North West and North Central, South-South, South East, South West of the country

Meanwhile, the Governor sympathised with the family, friends and former colleagues of the deceased and prayed to God to grant him eternal rest.
