Governor Obaseki dissolves entire cabinet

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has dissolved his entire cabinet, adding that the dissolution of the Executive Council takes immediate effect, and this also include all the Special Assistants relieved of their appointments.

Penpushing reports that the Governor’s Media Aide, Crusoe Osagie, made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday, following the announcement by the Governor during the weekly Executive Council meeting.

The Governor, however, did not give any reason but thanked members of the council for their service to the government and the people of Edo State, but there are speculations that the development may have signalled a power struggle within the administration.

‘The governor said that beginning from today, all Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants have been relieved of their appointments’, the Governor’s media aide emphasized in the the statement made available.
