Governor Makinde to proceed on five-week vacation
The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will from August 5, 2024 proceed on five-week week vacation and end on September 6, 2024, having sought for approval from the State House of Assembly, as well as to transfer power to his Deputy.
Penpushing reports that the Speaker of House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin read the Governor’s letter of his intention on Thursday on the floor of the House during a farewell plenary in honour of retiring House Clerk, Yetunde Awe.
The governor in the letter explained that he would like to transfer executive powers to the Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal, who will act in his place, explaining that the vacation will commence on August 5, 2024.
Penpushing further reports that in a related development the House of Assembly administered the oath of office on Taiwo Muraina-Akinola, the Deputy Clerk, as the substantive Clerk of the House which follows her recommendation by the House of Assembly Commission.
