Governor Makinde tests positive for coronavirus

The Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, on Monday disclosed that he tested positive for coronavirus, and while expressing optimism of full recovery , he called on residents on need to continue to comply with all the directives from the coronavirus Task Force.
Penpushing reports that, Makinde announced his test result through his Twitter page and verified Facebook page, where he wrote, “I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate,”
“I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe,” he added.
Penpushing further reports that with Makinde’s result, he has joined the list of influential Nigerians who have tested positive for the virus, and they include the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi.
