
Governor Fubara sends list of commissioner-nominees to Rivers state house of assembly
The Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Tuesday forwarded a fresh list of commissioner nominees to the House of Assembly, and this occurred after the governor dissolved the state executive council on February 12, 2026, four days after President Tinubu’s fourth intervention in the protracted political crisis in the state.
Penpushing reports that the clerk of the House of Assembly, Emeka Amadi, disclosed this in a statement posted on the assembly’s Facebook page adding that the Governor nominated nine people on the list, which is believed to be the first batch of commissioner-nominees.
The nominees include, Prof Datonye Alasia, Tonye Bellgam, Temple Nwofor, Peters Nwagor, Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams, Lekue Kenneth, Otonye Amachree and Amairigha Hart

Penpushing further reports that the statement said, the assembly asked the nominees to submit 40 sets of their Curriculum Vitae, photocopies of credentials and evidence of compliance with tax obligations.
Meanwhile, the clerk of the House of Assembly emphasized that all documents should be forwarded to the office of the Clerk of the House at the Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters,
