Governor Akeredolu resumes office after three-month medical leave

The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has returned on Thursday from his medical trip to Germany which lasted for three months and equally notified the State House of Assembly of his resumption of duty

Penpushing reports that the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji who received the letter from the Governor, on Friday said it was in line with Section 190(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

The Speaker in a statement expressed appreciation to God for bringing the Governor back home hale and hearty, adding that the entire people of the state were glad to see him back in office, stating that the letter was received on Friday during the Parliamentary meeting of the Assembly.

Penpushing further reports that the Governor, it is recalled in a letter dated 4th June, 2023 had informed the House of Assembly of his proceeding on medical leave and later extended it on 4th July, 2023.

The Governor who has been treating an undisclosed illness in Germany after his health deteriorated shortly after the presidential election arrived in the country on Thursday and met with members of his cabinet in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
