GOVERNOR AJIMOBI CALLS FOR UNITY, AS NIGERIA MARKS 58TH ANNIVERSARY
He congratulated the citizens of the country for witnessing another celebration,and also pointed out that, ‘as a nation with common heritage, history, race and social ties, though heterogenous in language, dressing, food, we should leverage an opportunities offered by our unity in our diversity for the common good of all’
Penpushing reports that, the Governor however pleaded to the people of Oyo State and Nigeria to continue to remain in peace as this will foster the development of the society, stressing further that Nigerians should see Nigeria diversity as a unifying force to achieve peace, unity, and national development and not as a treat to our coexistence.
“Fellow Nigerians today we are 58 years old in this lifetime journey as a people joined together by provident, a people with uncommon destiny, twined together, fate with enormous opportunities and challenges but if we can embrace peaceful coexistence within ourselves things will begin to work well for us.”Ajimobi emphasised
Penpushing also reports that, the Governor noted that this year celebration was fun filled as different games accompanied the regular school children match pass.
