Governor Adeleke orders probe into killing of America based lecturer during coronation anniversary
The Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered an investigation into the killings of a United States America (USA) Professor and politician, said to have been accidentally shot by a security guard during the 50th-year coronation celebration of the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin, in Ejigbo town.
Penpushing reports that Adeleke pointed out that the killing of Richard Adeoriokin and the subsequent killing of his killer was really sad, and therefore urged law enforcement agencies to establish the remote and immediate causes of the incident and ensure the law takes its course.

Penpushing further reports that the Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Olawale Rasheed, called for pre-emptive action by the security agencies to prevent possible counter-attacks or eruption of violence in Ejigbo town following the sad incident.
The Governor in the statement which said the incident occurred Saturday night after the ceremony commiserated with the people and appealed to the families of the deceased not to take laws into their hands.
Penpushing also reports that the Chief Press Secretary explained that as at the time of filing this report the government has dispatched a delegation to the town,, to ensure the restoration of calm while the investigation continues
The statement said members of the delegation include the state Commissioner of Police, the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, the Commissioner for Information and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security.
“I have also instructed the State Police Command to issue guidelines on usage of local guns. Such regulations will enhance the safety and protection of the citizens, especially at public functions’, the statement quoted the Governor.
Penpushing reports that the Osun State Police Command Public Relations Officer Yemisi Opalola however, explained that the deceased a Professor based in United States of America(USA) was accidentally killed by a security guard after the celebration on Saturday night.
