Governor Abiodun swears in Fagbohun as 19th Head of Service in Ogun state

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has sworn-in Mr. Kolawole Peter Fagbohun as the 19th Head of Service of Ogun State with a charge on him to provide leadership that would strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the public service.

Penpushing reports that the swearing in ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Executive Chambers of the governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with number of top government functionaries and political office holders in attaendance.

The Governor while speaking described the new Head of Service as a dedicated and committed civil servant who combines rare blend of experience, astuteness, personal management and administration with thoroughness and sound professional calling.

“Your appointment means that you are a servant to the people. It is a rare opportunity to serve and this calls for sober reflection. You are to be the bridge between the public office holders and the public servants’, Abiodun said.

“Provide a leadership that would strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the public service in fulfilling its mandates. Use your office for the successful implementation of the ISEYA pillars and Building our Future together agenda”, the governor charged’, he added.

Penpushing further reports that Abiodun noting that the selection process comes with merit, inclusive and based on principles of fairness and equity, urged the new number one civil servant to be a role model to others.

The Governor while charging the state workers to extend their support to the new Head of Service in order to enable him succeed, pledged that his administration would continue to create necessary ambience for more developmental programmes that would enhanced the socio-economic development of every citizen of the State just as he promised to prioritised their welfare and wellbeing.

Penpushing also reports that Fagbohun  in his acceptance speech explained that his coming on board would bring about the culture of high performance as he intended to adopt global best practices to ensure that public service translate the policies and programmes of government into action.

The Head of Service assured that the workforce would complement government efforts in achieving its developmental agenda by giving their optimal support, while appreciating the governor for finding him worthy for the top job.

Penpushing also reports that in a related development the newly appointed Ogun State Head of Service, has called on all civil servants in the state workforce to dedicate themselves to hard work, in a bid to contribute their quota to the development of the State.

The number one civil servant made the call when he received civil servants across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) amidst fun fare at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Penpushing reports that Fagbohun stated that the support of everyone from the highest to the least civil servant was required to move the state to a greater height, and equally appreciated the Governor for the trust and confidence reposed in him.
