Governor Abiodun inaugurates road safety strategy team in Ogun state

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has inaugurated the State Road Safety Advisory Council (SARSAC) with a charge for the team to ensure successful implementation of the National Road Safety Strategy in State

Penpushing reports that, the inauguration took place on Tuesday at the Governor’s office located at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the State Capital and has the Deputy Governor, Engr (Mrs) Noimot Salako -Oyedele as the Chairman of the Council

The membership list also include: the Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC),Ogun State Command, Ahmed Umar  as Secretary, as well Commissioners of Works and Infrastructure, Transportation, Education, Science and Technology, Environment, Information and Strategy, Chief Judge and  representative of the Nigeria Society of Engineers as members.

Penpushing further reports that, the Governor appreciated President Muhammad Buhari for the strategic initiative which was earlier inaugurated at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and being replicated across all States.

The Governor emphasised need for the committee to ensure security of lives and properties of the road users in the state, noting that the implementation of the strategy by the states  showed their  commitment to promote safer roads by reducing deaths caused  by crashes.

Penpushing also reports that, Chairman of the team in response appreciated the Governor for the confidence bestowed on the team, and assured that the team would work assiduously to ensure compliance with extant traffic rules, collaboration and cooperation with all parastatals to achieve a safer motoring environment to everyone who has cause to use the roads in Ogun State.
