Governor Abiodun appoints two new permanent secretaries
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of Dr. Ogunsanya Wellington Olaitan, (Consultant Surgery, GL. 17) and Mr. Abdul Suraj Olubamiro,( Physiotherapist, GL. 17) as Permanent Secretaries within the State’s Civil/Public Service.
Penpushing reports that the Head of Service Kehinde Onasanya made this known in a statement explaining that the appointments of the duo was in a continued effort to revitalize and improve the quality of the civil/public service in the state.
The statement added that the appointment was made by Governor in tandem with the provision of Section 208 (c) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and having considered merit, professionalism, inclusiveness and seniority in the Civil/Public Service of the State.
Penpushing further reports that Onasanya said in addition, the new appointees were carefully selected from the pool of Directors who were successful in the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme conducted for Directors to be eligible for appointment into the position of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil/Public Service.
The statement explained that prior to their appointment Olaitan appointment he joined the Civil Service of Ogun State on 2nd June, 1992 and was the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics (DPRS) of the Ogun State Hospitals Management Board and holds a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Ibadan in 1989.
Penpushing also reports that on Olubamiro, he was appointed into the service on 20th May, 1991, was the State Director of Physiotherapy and Medical Rehabilitation (DPMR) and possesses a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Lagos in 1990, in addition to a Post Graduate Degree in Planning, Research and Statistics from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2011.
The statement said the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are urged to exhibit stern dedication, diligence and selflessness in their new roles while relentlessly pursuing excellence in service and working collaboratively with other stakeholders.
Penpushing reports that the Head of Service in the statement made available to journalists on Tuesday said the swearing-in ceremony of the new appointees shall be conducted by the Governor in due course.
