Gbenga Daniel, Tinubu hold closed door meeting

Former Governor of Ogun State and now chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Tuesday evening engaged the leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in a closed door meeting

Penpushing reports that, as at the time of filing this report, details of the meeting at the Ikoyi residence of Tinubu are sketchy, but sources said the focus maybe on the duo political move ahead of the 2023 general election

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, it is recalled defected to All Progressives Congress(APC) and  has been in various high-level consultation meetings with leaders across the country.

Penpushing further reports that, Daniel relationship with Tinubu dates back to decades, and they remained strong allies until 2003 when Daniel contested for the Governorship seat in Ogun State.

The former number one citizen of Ogun State has remained in active in politics, coordinating the Southwest campaign for late President Umaru Yar’Adua and later President Goodluck Jonathan.

Penpushing also reports that, Daniel contested for the Chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)) in 2017 but later withdrew at the last minute, and was at a time  the Director-General of the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign.

The former Governor popularly called ‘OGD” left to support the gubernatorial bid of Prince Dapo Abiodun in 2019 before finally joining the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) early this year.
