From table of Leading Women of Africa (LWA) Group

The APG is an annual economic gathering of entrepreneurs and decision-makers from the public and private sector coming together to accelerate intra Africa trade activities and ultimately contribute to the socio-economic stability and prominence of Africa in the global market.

APG 2022 hosted delegates and dignitaries representing 23 African countries and beyond and led to interregional alliances and fruitful business partnerships being formed.

This year, I am proud to announce the inclusion of the LWA Men Champions Awards and Future is Female Awards which are distinguished and prestigious. Awards recognising the efforts and impacts of men and women in the process of achieving gender equality

Endorsed by the late Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and Patron of LWA, the LWA Men Champions Awards was launched in 2015 as a distinguished and prestigious annual awards ceremony in recognition of outstanding male leaders who are playing a significant role in unlocking the potential and the acknowledgement of women as equal partners in the sustainable socio-economic development process.

Previous winners included His Excellency Macky Sall, the President of Senegal, Mr. Phumulo Masualle, Premier of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Dr. Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Al-Amoudi, the Chairman and Owner of Midroc, Ethiopia, Dickson Mugendi D. Ntwiga, Founder and CEO of the Solidarity Community Based Organization in Kenya and Mr. Armand Claude Abanda from the African Institute of Computer Sciences based in Cameroon.

The APG Symposium & Exhibition 2023 will bring together corporates, project owners, manufacturers, innovators, investors and Government agencies with the aim of exchanging economic opportunities, showcasing products, facilitating access to finance and investment to build forward better.

The LWA Men Champions and Future is Female Awards will raise awareness of the joint mandate of male and female leaders from private and public in working together to achieve gender equality

OBJECTIVES

Showcase Africa’s business opportunities, Facilitate access to finance ,Facilitate B2B engagements, Recognise the contributions of male and female leaders in socio-economic development

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

It is expected that the event will:

  • Offer a platform for first class networking between women and their male counter-parts in

the public and corporate sectors.

  • Serve as a catalyst towards achieving gender equity through collaborative efforts.
  • Result in the enlightening of minds to influence decision makers to reflect on new ways to

make a lasting impact
