Fresh F.M Radio thrashes Nigeria Union of Journalists in soccer encounter

The Fresh F.M Radio Station Abeokuta soccer team on Wednesday thrashed the Ogun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) soccer squad during a football match to usher in 6th anniversary of the station.

Penpushing reports that the Yinka Ayefele boys defeated the Journalists soccer team by 1-0 during the match which took place at Mudasiru Lawal Stadium, Asero, Abeokuta, which attracted number of spectators who came to watch within and outside the town.

The winning goal was recorded by the radio soccer team in the fourteen minutes of the first half, while all frantic efforts of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) team to equalise was prevented by Ayefele boys, holding on to the goal till the end of the final whistle from the referee

Penpushing further reports that the two teams, however, recorded red card, as two players, one each from the soccer squads were sent out by the referee for foul play, while the coach of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Hakeem Adegbenro was noticed to be restless when his team suffered first goal.

The coach who looked eager and anxious in ensuring that his team equalise and to win the match was shouting on top of his voice to encourage his team to come out victorious as he dished out directive to the boys from side of the field, but to no avail

Penpushing also reports that on the part of the General Manager of the radio station, Goke Babalola, he was also restless as he moved from one end of the field to the other praying fervently to God in seeing his team in maintaining the leading position of one goal recorded till the end of the match

The encounter which later came to end after final whistle by the referee, steered jubilation by the winning team and coaching crew, embarking on victorious song round the field of play and stadium premises
