Freelance Broadcasters Association appoints Ayinla Egba as Chairman Ogun State Chapter
The Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), Ogun State Chapter, has appointed Chief Olalekan Alex Shoyinka as the Chairman, following resolutions reached at the state congress
Penpushing reports that appointment of Shoyinka popularly called Ayinla Egba was subsequently ratified by the National Congress of the association, held in Ibadan on Sunday, January 18, 2026, thereby giving full constitutional backing to the new leadership arrangement in Ogun State.
The appointment and ratification took place in the presence of key stakeholders at the National Congress, which was well attended by members of the outgoing National Working Committee (NWC).
Penpushing further reports that the committee was led by Comrade Taiwo Adebayo-Gold, as well as respected national leaders of the association which include Mogaji Kola Olootu, Prophet Niyi Akinboade and Comrade Ben Uwabor.
The other national leaders are Alhaji Gbenga Adebayo-Oladunni, Comrade Desmond Nwachukwu, Comrade Seun Awodele, among other distinguished leaders and stakeholders who witnessed and endorsed the proceedings.
Penpushing also reports that other executive officers for the chapter include Comrade Moses Okunlola (Secretary), Comrade Olusoji Idowu Soewu, Comrade Bolanle Oluwatoyin Asakpa, Comrade Olusoji Akindiya and Comrade Remilekun Elegbede
The officers are constituted to stabilize, reform, and reposition Ogun state Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) in line with national best practices.
Penpushing reports that a statement by the Acting Secretary of the body Comrade Moses Okunlola explained that the selection of Shoyinka was unanimous, owing to his wealth of experience and proven leadership credentials within the association.
The chairman has previously served with distinction as Publicity Secretary and General Secretary of the Ogun State Chapter of the association, roles in which he demonstrated administrative competence, inclusiveness, and commitment to the ideals of the Association.
Penpushing further reports that the statement stated that the caretaker committee has been tasked to undertake a comprehensive process of reform, rebranding, and institutional repositioning of the association, with a focus on professionalism, unity, credibility, and effective member engagement.
The chairman in his acceptance expressed gratitude to the national leadership, elders, and members of the association for the confidence reposed in him and the committee, emphasizing that the task ahead requires collective responsibility and shared ownership.
“This assignment cannot be accomplished by the Caretaker Committee alone. It requires the support, cooperation, and active participation of all members. As our elders say, a heavy burden cannot be carried alone’, he said
Penpushing also reports that Shoyinka assured members that the mandate entrusted to the committee would be handled with seriousness, integrity, transparency, and commitment, adding that the committee is determined to restore pride, professionalism, and public confidence in the chapter within the stipulated period.
The leadership of the association, however, called on all members to rally round the new caretaker committee and support its efforts towards building a stronger, more united, and more credible association in Ogun State.
