Four persons killed in Lagos-Ibadan expressway car crash
Four persons were on Monday killed ,and five others sustaining vary degree of injuries in an auto crash to vehicles on Ogere axis of Lagos-Ibadan expressway, while as at the time of filing this report, the corpses had being deposited in a morgue
Penpushing reports that the Route Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe made this known in a statement, adding that a total of 9 persons were involved which comprised of 6 male adults, 2 female adults and 1 male child.
The agency spokesperson disclosed that the vehicles involved include a Toyota SIENNA with registration number KJA738ET and Howo trailer with registration number KMC548YD,adding that a total of 5 persons were injured
Penpushing further reports that, Okpe explained that the injured comprised 2 male adults, 2 female adults and male child, affirming that four persons were recorded to have died from the crash, who were all male adults.
The Public Education Officer of the corps said the suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed which led to loss of control on the part of the sienna bus who collided with the truck when the truck driver was trying to reverse
Penpushing reports that, Okpe in the statement disclosed that, the injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at FOS Ipara morgue, adding that the agency symphatised with families of the deceased.
The Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, however, advised motorists to use common sense speed limit especially this rainy season when visibility is poor, and if motorist cannot drive under the rain, it is advisable to park in a safe place and wait for safety purpose.
