Four Oodua Peoples Congress members arrested over alleged killing of 35 year old man

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four members of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) for beating and stabbing a 35 year old man to death, following an argument at Temple street in Bariga area of the state.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi made this known adding that the victim Tochukwu Chidi, of number 76 Arobadede Street,Bariga sustained injuries and was later rushed to General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead

The police spokesman gave identities of the suspects as include: Sunday Onilede(35), Azan Razak(35), Abdullahi Ibrahim(29) and Fatai Taiwo(40),adding that the  Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has  directed that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for proper investigation and prosecution.

Penpushing further reports that, in another development, the police operatives attached to Surulere Division have arrested one Peter Arinola, at Empire Area, Surulere, Lagos State, with an English Pistol while he was negotiating and harassing one lady “prostitute” for sex.

The police image maker said the suspect intended to use the pistol to intimidate the lady to agree to his terms and the amount he wanted to pay, but the lady insisted on certain amount of money, adding that the suspect, thereafter brought out the pistol and wanted to force the lady to engage her in sex.

Penpsuhing also reports that, Adejobi said the lady raised alarm while the suspect was overpowered and arrested by the people around the brothel, and was subsequently handed over to the police.

The Command Public Relations Officer said  police swung into action and further investigation revealed that the suspect used to assist an armed robber (name withheld) to keep the pistol for operations.

Penpushing reports that, he said the police later recovered 5 rounds of ammunition in the room of the lady during the course of their investigation, adding that the Commissioner of Police has ordered that the owner of the pistol and suspected armed robber, who is at large, be apprehended by all means and brought to book.
