Former President Shagari’s widow dies of coronavirus
The widow of the late former Nigerian President Shehu Shagari, Hadiza Shagari, has died on Thursday at Gwagwalada coronavirus isolation centre, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) from coronavirus complications
Penpushing reports that, the son of the 80 year old deceased Bala Shagari confirmed the development in a statement, adding that the octogenarian died at about 3.00am afater battling with the virus
“We regret to announce the demise of our beloved mother, Hajiya Hadiza Shehu Shagari, the wife of H.E late President Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari, GCFR (Turakin Sokoto)’,the bereaved said.
“We lost her in the early hours of today, 12th August 2021, at about 3:00 am, after battling Covid-19 at the Gwagwalada Isolation Center in Abuja. Hajiya Hadiza Shehu Shagari was 80 years old’ the statement added.
