Coronavirus: Ogun State Government to begin 3 days fumigation Saturday

The Ogun State Government  will on Saturday commenced fumigation of towns across the state, and announced a total lockdown for the first three days which is to end on Tuesday, emphasizing that it is going to be a total ‘no movement’ by the residents.

Penpushing reports that, Governor Dapo Abiodun made this known late night Friday at a press conference held at his private residence in Iperu Remo of Ikenne Local Government Area of the State, stressing that the three days is for complete fumigation, while the lockdown lasted for two weeks.

The Governor said, the total lockdown would be relaxed at every 48-hours beginning from 7a.m on Tuesday morning till 2p.m for residents to replenish their food stores while the lockdown lasts, adding that government in similar vein would henceforth enforce compulsory wearing of face mask as from Tuesday  till the expiration of the lockdown.

Penpushing further reports that, he also declared  that the state taskforce has being assigned  to monitor the daily report and distribution of the stimulus packages from the  government to all the 236 wards adding that  500, 000 households have been penciled down  for the relief materials packaged by the state government to cushion the effects of the lockdown.

The Governor  emphasized  that the relief package, which include 5kg each of rice, beans, “gari”,  tomatoe pastes, vegetable oil, salt and seasoning cubes among others were meant  for poor and the vulnerables in the state.

Penpushing also reports that, Abiodun explained that the third index case of COVID-19 who was tested positive about 10 days ago, was expected to be discharged  soon in view of the fact that he has  shown considerable improvement in his health condition.
