Former Governor Gbenga Daniel mourns Akinjide
Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has described late Chief Richard Osuolale Akinjide as an accomplished statesman who, during his lifetime demonstrated unique courage and unwavering principle.
Penpushing reports that, Daniel in a statement made available by his media aide, Ayo Giwa, said he was shocked on receiving the sad news, stating that late Akinjide was an erudite lawyer with robust political career.
“Papa was an accomplished statesman; a foremost legal luminary, nationalist, detrabilsed politician and an exemplary leader with uncommon devotion to service, Daniel stated
“Though he died at a ripe age, his death is, no doubt, a great loss to Nigeria and the Yoruba race but we take solace in his legacies as he will be forever remembered for his immense contributions to nation building and stability of the country”.
Penpushing further reports that, Daniel, expressing his heartfelt condolences prayed to Almighty God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and fortitude for the family to bear the great loss.
