Gunmen kill tipper driver in Abeokuta

A gang of suspected gunmen have killed a tipper  driver, Tajudeen Adelanwa popularly called ‘Olota” on Tuesday evening at  Oke-Ata junction of Ibara -Orile road located in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State

Penpushing reports that, a family member of the deceased, Haruna Yusuf  said, the sad incident occurred at about 7pm, adding that while ‘Olota’ was standing by the roadside in discussions with some colleagues, unknown gunmen raised bullets on him

The family member in his narration added that, the stray bullet hit the victim in the stomach, adding that  within a twinkle ,there was commotion, while the victim was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Abeokuta.

Penpushing further reports that, as frantic efforts were ongoing to save the life of the victim, he gave up the ghost, while as at the time of filing this report, the corpse had being transferred to State Hospital, Abeokuta, to extract the bullet and conduct a post mortem.

The family member said the report of the incident was made at Lafenwa Police station, which was also confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who said investigation has commenced

Penpushing also reports that, the late Adelanwa ,  a father of two girls with age range between 12  and 6 years  was said to have lost his wife two years ago and have been the breadwinner of the family before the sudden death, while as at the time of filing this report, arrangements were also ongoing to  bury him according to Islamic right

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force in the state, said the command will get to the root of the incident and fish out the culprits, who will be arraign in court as soon as investigation is completed.
