FIRE RAZE PROPERTIES WORTH MILLIONS OF NAIRA IN IBADAN

“We called the Oyo State Fire Service department, and they were here on time, but their efforts, with our own could not stop the fire because all the materials in those affected shops are clothing materials that easily catches fire’.

“We commend the effort and the timely intervention of the fire service men for their prompt response to our calls, if not for their timely intervention, the fire could have extended to other areas’, the victims said.

Penpushing further reports that, one of the shop owners, who is a widow and a mother of seven, Mrs. Omolara Ali while speaking with journalist at the scene of the inferno  lamented, ” I cannot just explained how it all happened, I was just called this morning that my shops have been razed by fire’.

“When I got here, I lost my consciousness, because all my wares, canopies, plastic chairs and tables, some plastic water drums, and some other things that I have not been able to ascertain right now, i just don’t know what to do’.

‘My husband left all these properties for me when he died some years ago, so that I can be using the properties to take care of myself and my children but now that all of them has gone to fire incident, so I just don’t know where to start from.”

Penpushing also reports that, Omolara, however called on the State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde and well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aide, and that of others whose shops were also affected in the incident.

“Am begging the State Governor and all others well-meaning Nigerians to come and help me, this is the only source that I am using to manage to feed myself and my family. I need help from everybody, as the only means that I used to feed my family and send my children to school has been razed by this ugly fire inferno’.

‘As at  now, I cannot say this is the total estimated cost of the burnt items but I’m quite sure that they are not less than N2miilion, because I’m only seeing  just some iron rod that we used to use in hanging the canopies all the rest have been burnt’.

Penpushing reports that, another victim, Mrs. Okesoto Olanike, said  ” I lost two big fridges, I lost virtually everything in my shop to the inferno, only in my shop, I lost something close to N1.4million,my co-tenants also lost their machines to this incident’.

‘Some of them have more than four different machines in their shops, some of them also sell clothes and tailoring materials and as you can see all of these shops have been burnt down with their various content, if I will not be mistaking, the value of their loss will not less than N30million, we beg our Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to come to our rescue as loss is too much for us bear, especially during this Yelutide season’.
