Fire guts section of supreme court Abuja

An early morning fire on Monday has gutted a section of the Supreme Court in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which cause as at the time of filing this report was traced to electrical spark from one of the offices.

Penpushing reports that the Public Relations Officer for the Court, Mr Festus Akande, confirmed the incident but debunked social media claim that there were causalities, adding that electrical fault responsible for the fire was from one of the Chambers of the Justices.

The Public Relations Officer explained that the fire was subsequently put off with the use of fire extinguishers, as a source informed that the cleaners on duty and some of the workers who resumed early for work detected the fire and raised the alarm.

Penpushing further reports that the source added that three offices, including that of Justice Mohammed Saulawa, were touched by the fire, adding that workers were said to have used the fire extinguishers in the building to combat the fire.
