Fiditi Grammar School old students prepare for 70th anniversary of college
The old students of Fiditi Grammar School, located in Fiditi town of Oyo State have conclude arrangements in organizing a befitting for 70th anniversary of the school, known to have produced number of well to do individuals across the globe.
Penpushing reports that Chairman Publicity and Publications Committee of the Anniversary, Sola Omole in a statement on Wednesday explained that activities have been scheduled to take place from Friday February 16 to Sunday February 18, 2024.
The statement added that old students’ association of Fiditi Grammar School (FIGSOSA) explained that the highlight of the celebrations will be the events slated to take place on Saturday February 17, 2024, which include anniversary lecture on the state of education in Nigeria to be delivered by the Chairman of Council, Ibadan Polytechnic, Professor Adekunle Akinyemi, an old student of the school.
Penpushing further reports that Omole, a veteran Nigerian broadcast journalist said other events are the commissioning of the Senator (Dr.) Bode Olajumoke Youth Empowerment Foundation Centre located adjacent to the school.
‘This is a skills acquisition centre to provide relevant skills to young persons to aid their chances of success in life. The Centre will be commissioned by His Excellency the Governor of Oyo State Engr. Seyi Makinde’, the statement reads.
Penpushing also reports that the statement disclosed that the activities equally include recognition awards which will be handed out to old students and friends of college who have assisted in various ways to sustain both the association and Fiditi Grammar School, in recognition of their services to the school while they were alive, as well as posthumous awards for those who are already late
The statement said there is to be a Jumat Service on Friday February 16, and an interdenominational service will bring the activities to a close on Sunday February 18, 2024., and called said to ensure students’ participation, a schools debate featuring students from Fiditi Grammar School, Olivet Baptist High school, Oyo and Ilora Grammar School, Ilora, will take place at 10:00 am on Friday February 16.
