FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE ABEOKUTA ‘DETAINS’ PATIENT OVER N40, 000 BILL

Narrating her ordeal, to Penpushing on the hospital bed, the patient who burst into tears, said she was fed up, adding that, her ailment was still a mystery to her, adding that even after the prescribed operation, the situation got worsen.

She said, the hospital discharged with claimed that she is fit to go home, and that all what she needs now, is good food, and religious use of her drugs, but lamented that, she was denied of leaving the hospital because of the outstanding debt.

The mother of the patient, a petty trader in Kila village located in Obafemi-Owode local government, while speaking with Penpushing beside her daughter’s hospital bed, said she had spent all what she can afford, and appeal for assistance from the public to bail the patient out in offsetting the debt.

The woman, Silifat Ajani with telephone numbers 08174390447 and 07012806243 confirmed that, the patient could not go because of the debt, adding that, she exhausted all money with her, and passionately begged the management to tamper justice with mercy.

Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the management of the hospital, as well as the Public Relations Officer, Segun Orisajo could not be reach for comment on the ugly development.
